Charlie Kirk's family and representatives have confirmed he was not involved in a shooting after a synthetic video circulated online.

The family of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has issued a statement confirming that a video circulating widely online, which appeared to show the political figure being shot at a university event, is a sophisticated AI-generated fabrication.

In a press release issued through the Turning Point USA organization, Kirk’s family addressed the disturbing footage that had caused immediate alarm across various digital platforms. The family emphasized that the events depicted never took place and urged the public to remain vigilant against the rise of deepfake technology.

"The video depicting our beloved Charlie being shot is AI-generated," the family stated in the release. "We request our supporters to be aware of misinformation online. We are disgusted by the video as well as the discourse surrounding it."

The statement further clarified Kirk’s current whereabouts, noting that he is presently in Tel Aviv. Family members described him as "alive and thriving," noting that he remains in good spirits despite the spread of the hoax.

Technology and security experts have frequently warned that political figures are increasingly becoming targets for deepfake content intended to incite panic or spread chaos. This latest incident highlights the evolving nature of digital misinformation, where high-fidelity AI-generated images and videos are used to simulate real-world violence.

Independent fact-checkers reviewed the footage and noted several digital artifacts consistent with synthetic generation before the family's official confirmation. The exact origin of the video remains under investigation.

While Kirk has not issued a personal statement directly to the press, his family noted that he is continuing his schedule overseas. Turning Point USA officials said they are monitoring the situation and working to have the fraudulent media removed from major hosting platforms.
